Heaven and Hell was a touring exhibition, commissioned by The Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston, UK and co-funded by Arts Council/Yorkshire Arts.  The images were presented as large-scale, back lit transparencies, mounted on light boxes. The work marked the 50th year of the National Health Service.

"These hauntingly austere portraits, when graced by the artist’s touch, seem to randomly select innocents from our population revealing a sensitivity which draws on our instinct to care. They point to our vulnerability, which like Aneurin Bevan‘s vision of a ‘Health Service for all’, transcends our social and economic structures"
